Bot click filtering

The 'bot click filtering' functionality detects and filters clicks on email links performed by bots. This leads to fewer openers and clicks on your emailings.

Background clicks by bots

To protect the recipient's inbox, providers deploy 'spam filters / bots'. In some cases, these spam filters impact the email statistics of your emailings. This is the case with 'spam filters / bots' that are set up to click on all or part of the links in an email prior to delivery. The purpose of this check is to protect the recipient and prevent links from causing potential harm. The disadvantage of these "unwarranted" clicks is that they are recorded in email statistics.

'Bot clicks' in Ternair

Based on the use of JavaScript, it can be determined whether a click comes from a bot, because bots basically do not load JavaScript when they click on a link. Clicks recorded without the use of JavaScript are not recorded in the email statistics.

In addition, bot clicks are filtered out of the email statistics based on the behavior involving a high volume of clicks (on the same link) within a (tenths/hundredths of) seconds.
