Feedback loop

E-mail feedback loop

An e-mail feedback loop allows an Internet Service Provider (ISP, such as Gmail, Hotmail, etc.) to notify a sending organization of spam complaints filed by recipients of their messages. This allows the sender to remove these subscribers from their list and ensure they are not receiving mail they don't want.

Spam Complaints

In Ternair Campaign, feedback on spam complaints is automatically processed in the suppression list.

List-Unsubscribe

In the default setting, list-unsubscribes are automatically processed in the suppression list.

By adding an email address from a spam complaint or list-unsubscribe to the suppression list, the user will no longer receive emails until the status of the address is manually changed to 'valid'.

What is list-unsubscribe?

Internet Service Providers offer users a prominent list-unsubscribe option. This is a convenient alternative to the unsubscribe link in the email content itself.

The way the list-unsubscribe is displayed depends on the Internet Service Provider.

Gmail, for example, displays the list-unsubscribe as a text link next to the sender information.

IOS mail again shows a clearer list-unsubscribe by adding the unsubscribe option at the very top of the email.
