Webpush wizard

The Webpush block allows you to create and send push notifications to website visitors who have webpush notifications turned on. These notifications appear directly at the user's browser, even when the website is not actively open.

The Webpush block is a wizard that lets you quickly create and schedule a Webpush notification at one workflow. Within this block, you go through the following steps:
  • Select a target audience

  • Set the content together

  • Plan shipment


Terms
Before you can send web push notifications, a webpush domain are created via Global Settings. Only Webpush domains that are configured correctly are displayed at the block.

Add webpush block

Drag the Webpush block to the worksheet, the block opens carmatically.


Overview or the editor

The webpush editor consists or different components.

At the top left or your screen you will see the title or the block (default: Webpush). Click the pen icon next to the name to edit the title.

Advanced mode

At the top right or your screen you will find the Advanced Mode switch for additional menu items and functionality.

Editor

In the center or your screen you have the editor where you set up the content or the web push.

Menu

On the right side or your screen you will find a drop-down menu with additional options.

 

Menu items

The menu contains several items that allow you to set up and manage the web push. Which menu items are visible depends on whether the Advanced mode is enabled.

Contacts

Set whether a contact moment is recorded after sending the web push. (Visible only at Advanced mode).

Preview & Test

See what the push notification looks like and test the notification before sending it.

Schedule & send

Plan when the web push will be sent, such as once or on a recurring schedule.

Settings

Set additional options for the web push, such as confirmations and delivery settings. (Visible only at Advanced mode).


By default, only icons are shown. Clicking on the drop-down icon shows the detailed view.

Advanced mode

When Advanced mode is disabled, are only available:
  • Preview & Testing

  • Schedule & send


When Advanced mode is enabled, these additional options become visible:
  • Contacts

  • Settings


In addition, you can use the block save as block template.
In the button Save three dots appear that allow you to open an additional option to save the block as a template.


Error messages

In the middle or the screen you will see an error message icon. If there is an error message, you cannot preview, test or submit.

You view the notifications by clicking the down arrow.


There are three categories:
  • Target

  • Message

  • Settings.

Move your cursor over the i icon to see the corresponding error message.

Webpush message creation

Select target group

At the top or the editor, you can select the target audience.
  • Open the drop-down menu Select from: Webpush

  • Choose the desired Webpush target audience

The gray bar next to the web push name shows the size or the target audience.


Create the message

Fill at the fields below to enter the webpush notification draw up.

Contacts

Under Contacts optionally set whether there is a contact moment is recorded After sending the web push.
You can select these contacts after sending from a selection block at the Target Manager under the "Campaign Information" resource.


Turn on the switch to record contact moments.
Select a channel for registering your contacts
Choose a contact date.
  • bovine date (the date the block is executed)

  • beef date + (a few days after the run)

  • fixed date (on a specific, self-set date).


Notice: This menu item is visible only when the Advanced mode is enabled.

Preview & Test

Under Preview & Test you can check the push notification before sending it.


Viewing Webpush
Check the contents or the notification on the left.

Webpush testing
Perform a test on the right before actual shipping.


When the message appears that notifications are blocked, you must first enable notifications before you can receive Web Push notifications. You can do this by pressing the button at the notification click and allow notifications.


No notification to enable notifications?
Sometimes the notification to allow notifications no longer appears. This can happen when you have previously refused or blocked. In that case, you can reset the website settings through your browser.

Reset Settings
  • Click on the lock icon next to the website URL at the address bar

  • Open the site settings

  • Find the option Notifications

  • Put these on Questions (standard) or Allow

  • Refresh the page


After resetting the settings, the message appears again at which you allow notifications.

Tip: Also, check that notifications at the general browser settings are not completely disabled.

Schedule & send

Under Schedule & send you can schedule the dispatch or the web push.

Choose a shipping frequency:

One-time

The notification is sent once at a specific time

Daily

The notification is sent at a fixed time each day

Weekly

The notification is sent on a fixed day and time each week

Monthly

The notification is sent on a fixed day and time each month


Once you choose a shipping frequency, the button changes Save at Saving and scheduling.

Note: when you are on Saving and scheduling clicks, shipping is activated immediately.

Settings

Under Settings you will find two sections.


Attachment
Send carmatic confirmation after sending via:
  • Email

  • SMS


Additional
Determine how long the web push service should attempt to deliver the message. Specify the desired delivery period at days.
The message is displayed to all subscribers who have been online during this period.
Notice: This menu item is fully visible only when the Advanced mode is enabled.

Apply/save/cancel

Use the options below to save your changes.

If "Advanced Mode" is enabled, you can also save the block as a template by clicking on the three dots.

Cancel

Close the editor without saving any changes.



Scheduled Webpush block

Once the Webpush block is scheduled, a blue bar will appear at the block showing the scheduled shipping date and time.
Next to the block name, the size or the target group is displayed.
The gray bar shows the name or the target group. If no target group is selected yet, the message appears: 'No target audience'.


Open Webpush block

The first time you drag a Webpush block atto the flow, the block opens carmatically. To open an existing Webpush block, double-click the block or click the three dots top right at the block.


A context menu appears with the following options:
