Newsletter wizard

Met het Newsletter blok kun je een nieuwsbrief opmaken en versturen naar een geselecteerde nieuwsbrieflijst or doelgroep.

The Newsletter block is a wizard with which you create and schedule the newsletter within one block. You go through the following steps at sequence:
  • Select a target audience

  • Set the content together

  • Plan shipment


Terms
Before you can send a newsletter, at least one newsletter list or target audience must be available.

Add newsletter block

Drag the Newsletter block onto the worksheet; the block opens carmatically.


An atitial screen appears with three steps to help you set up your newsletter.
  • Select target group - choose the desired newsletter list or target audience.

  • Select template - select a template and associated corporate identity.
    If you want to work with your own HTML code select 'Do not use a template'.

  • Sender - Set the sender, subject line and optionally the preheader.
    You can have both the subject and the preheader generated by the AI Assistant. You do this by clicking on the AI icon next to the topic or preheader.

Click the button Create newsletter to get atto the editor.
It is also possible to skip the above steps or modify them later. In that case, press the "Create newsletter" button directly.

Newsletter editor

If you are on the button 'Create newsletter' clicked, the left side the newsletter displayed. On the right side you will find the settings.

At the top right or your screen, you'll find the Advanced Mode switch for additional functionality.

On the right side or your screen you will find a drop-down menu with additional options.

By default, only iconen shown. Clicking on the drop-down icon displays the detailed view.

When you select a menu item, the icon turns green. This allows you to see at a glance which tab you are active on.
The target icon is always blue.

Near the icons you will see a red or green ball.
The red bullet atdicates that action is still required.
The green bullet atdicates that everything is set correctly.

Advanced mode

If you select the checkbox ''Advanced Mode' checkbox, the option to save the newsletter block as a template appears. In the button Save appear three dots which opens an additional option to save the block as a template.


Error messages and warnings

In the center or the screen you will see two icons.

  • Error message: sender, HTML or hyperlinks are missing - you cannot preview, test or send

  • Warning: newsletter can be sent, but contains QUESTIONS


You can view the errors and warnings by clicking on the down arrow icon. Checking the checkbox next to the error or alert will take you to that error or alert.



Select recipients (Sender)

In the upper left corner or the screen, you can see the Afzender fill at or modify. This atformation becomes visible when you click at the menu on the icon 'Choose recipients' or click on the arrow next to "Sender" at the left panel.

The sender profile used to send the newsletter

Subject line

The title or your newsletter that recipients see at their atbox. You can have the subject generated by the AI assistant. You do this by clicking on the AI icon next to the topic

Preheader

The short text displayed at the atbox immediately after (or below) the subject line or a newsletter. You can have the preheader generated by the AI assistant. You do this by clicking on the AI icon next to the preheader

 

Content Editor

In the Content Editor compose the content and layout or the newsletter.

Corporate identity

Select the visual style or the newsletter. The selected house style is applied to the templates or snippets.
House styles can be added and managed at the General Settings.

Templates

Select a template.

Use the eye-icon to preview the template.

To the globe-icon you recognize whether it is a global snippet.

Use the search function to quickly find the right template.

HTML

Add HTML code, or view and edit existing HTML code

Snippets

Add reusable content blocks such as text, images and logos.

Block

Edit your content.
Select a block on the left (it will be marked with a blue border) and then adjust the content on the right.

Media

Add and manage images within your newsletter.

RSS

Add RSS feeds and select RSS messages.

Hyperlinks

Provide a tag and/or tracker for each hyperlink.
Clicking the 'Apply Wildcards' button will apply all configured wildcards (hyperlinks/ tags/ statistics) to the content or the newsletter block. Wildcards can be set at the General Settings.


Mapping

All fields you want to use at the newsletter must be under Mapping are selected (mapped).


In the left column 'Content Variables' you see all the fields to be mapped. In the right column 'Mapping Fields' you see all the available fields to choose from. These are taken from the Target Block which is created at the Target Manager and is associated with this SMS block. If any fields are missing, adjust the mapping at the Target Block within the Target Manager.
You can link fields by:
  • het Automap fields-icoon to use, or

  • drag a field from the right column to the corresponding field at the left column.


Notice: if there no target group is linked, is Mapping not available.

Preview & test

Before sending the newsletter, you can view and test it under Preview & test.


View newsletter
On the left side or the screen you will see a preview or the newsletter. Click on the Desktop- or Mobile-icon to switch between views.


On the right side, you can select a record to see what the personalized newsletter looks like. You can click multiple records to see different variants.

Note: when there is no Mapping is set, a non-personalized newsletter is displayed.

Newsletter testing
You can also send a test newsletter to one or more e-mail addresses. Here you can optionally use a custom subject.



Below the table or test variants you will find the following options:
  • Renew data - load the latest data

Note: when reopening an existing newsletter block, previously saved data is shown. Click on refresh to see the current data
  • Show number or rows - choose between 10, 20 or 30 records

  • Show random data - load random records

Select one or more records and click the button Send To send the test mail.

Schedule & send

Under Schedule & send newsletter (periodically) can be scheduled and executed at the desired day and time.

 
Choose a shipping frequency:

Once you choose a shipping frequency, the button changes Save at Saving and scheduling.


Note: when you are on Saving and scheduling clicks, shipping is activated immediately.

Apply/save/cancel

Use the options below to save your changes.

If "Advanced Mode" is enabled, you can also save the block as a template by clicking on the three dots.

Scheduled Newsletter block

Once the newsletter is scheduled, a blue bar will appear at the block showing the scheduled shipping date and time.
Next to the block name, the size or the newsletter list or target audience is displayed.
The gray bar shows the name or the newsletter list or target group. If no target group has been selected yet, the message appears: 'No target audience'.


Open newsletter block

The first time you drag a Newsletter block atto the flow, the block opens carmatically. To open an existing Newsletter block, double-click the block or click the three dots top right at the block.


A context menu appears with the following options:
