Edit

There are multiple options to customize content in the email editor: (1) Change snippets, (2) Change text, (3) Change images, (4) Add a background image, or (5) Add video.

Editor

In the editor on the left side of the screen, the content of the email can be customized.

Hover your mouse over an icon to see which part of the template can be edited via that icon. Depending on the action available, the selected part of the template will light up in a certain color.

You can undo/revert changes with the "Undo" and "Redo" buttons in the upper left.

Use the buttons in the upper right to preview the email on desktop (default) or mobile device.

Any different parts of the template, such as text or images, will show a number of icons. The table below provides a description for each icon.

Icone	Description
	Indicates which snippet block is selected. When HTML editing is allowed (Options tab), the HTML hierarchy is displayed in the tooltip.

	Displays the link block that is selected. If HTML editing is allowed (Options tab), the HTML hierarchy is displayed in the tooltip.
	Set hyperlink
	Displays the html block that is selected. If HTML editing is allowed (Options tab), the HTML hierarchy is displayed in the tooltip.
	Edit content/text
	Displays the image block that is selected. If HTML editing is allowed (Options tab), the HTML hierarchy is displayed in the tooltip.
	Select and edit (rotate/mirror) image TIP: an image can be dragged into content from the Images tab (if ternair-img is used)
	Add info/context to an item: e.g. alt-text, tooltip, hyperlink (on image)
	Undo/rotate image to left
	Re-run/rotate image to the right
	Mirroring image horizontally
	Mirroring the image vertically

It is also possible to set up a landing page in Ternair and call up this page from an email. A landing page can be used for a so-called "soft landing" from your email, since someone clicking on a link in the email will not be sent directly to a general page on your website, but instead to a custom page. For example, a promotional page with a specific offer for the recipients of your email.

A landing page can be created in Ternair's templates section.

Customize snippets

In addition to drag & drop, snippets can also be updated "inline" within the editor. Select another snippet if you want to replace them. Do not delete them!

Adjust text

Click on the content you want to adjust and use the context menu to adjust the content.

Customize images

There are two ways to customize the images in an email.

Images added on the Images tab (via the + icon) can be used in the content of the email block in which they were added.
In addition to drag & drop, images can also be updated "inline" within the editor. Select another image if you want to replace them.

The images can be used to replace images (with a ternary-img class) in the email.

Drag an image to the left and release it once a blue border is visible around the image you want to replace.

Update inline another image if you want to replace it.

Depending on the class used (ternary-img or ternary-img-expert), different editing options are available for images placed in an email.

Ternary-img: rotate, mirror, alt-text, tooltip, hyperlink
Ternary-img-expert: rotate, mirror, alt-text, tooltip, hyperlink, crop, size

The 'customize image property' screen contains the following options.

Add a background image

It is possible to add a background image to an email.

The background image and its settings can be customized. These settings are:

Setting	Description
Background Image	Select image
Size image	Determine the size for the background image. Auto; automatically scale the best Close; automatically scale the image to original size Coverage; automatically scale the image to width
Repeat	Repeat the background image
Position	Determine the position for the background image. The first value is the horizontal position and the second value is the vertical. Units can be pixels, % or keywords. Available options for horizontal alignment: left, center, right Available options for vertical alignment: top, center, bottom

Add video

A 'video' snippet can be used to add a video to an email.

The settings screen for a video snippet contains the following options.

Setting	Description
Video url	Select video. Please note that the video snippet does not support youtube videos whose direct url you do not have.
Fallback link url	The anchor link in case an email client does not support videos.
Fallback image url	The anchor image in case an email client does not support videos.
Controls	If selected, it indicates that video controls should be displayed. Video controls include: Playback Pause Volume Full Screen Enable Captions/subtitles (if available) Track (if available)
Autoplay	If selected, the video will play automatically without any user intervention.
Video type	The media type of the video
Image url	Select a background image - equal to fallback image url.
